Corkscrew

Tossing and turning, turning and tossing.

I lay on my left side.
Uncomfortable.

I lay on my right side.
Uncomfortable.

Again the left.
Again the right.
Then the back.
Now my stomach.

UNCOMFORTABLE!

I manage sleep on my left side. A few minutes later I awake.
Uncomfortable.

I manage sleep on my right side. A few minutes later I awake.
Uncomfortable.

I sleep to the left, then right, then left again. The whole night I writhe like this. Seizuring to fall asleep, for but a few minutes.

Violent pressures are building inside me. They gush irradically from my legs and head, bringing about tremors. I lay and shiver on sweat soaked pillows.

The air is frigid. My skin sears on contact. Suddenly, the room is aflame. My skin freezes and melts like ice.

The body must find balance.
