It was said to me:
"we're fighting for 2 other kids that desperately need to get out of a horrible situation, and my own daughter wants out of my house. more freedom and less rules i guess will win any teenager! my heart is breaking and the tears just won't stop. i just feel so sad. how can this happen???"

"it's all in perspective. she is still young. if you live your whole life in a place where the sun is always shining and there is never a rain cloud in the sky, even the most beautiful day becomes dull and boring. love is the same. if you've always been loved, always been taken care of, always had support- then what have you had? nothing, because you can't see a difference. everything you say to her at this point is useless, it's as if you're writing on a white chalkboard. there is no contrast for your words to stand out. she hasn't had the experiences yet that make her capable of seeing love. and that has nothing to do with parenting, only with time."
