it's my birthday

"You shouldn't care about what other people think." How many times have you heard that from someone who has tried to give you advice? "You really need to get a car and your own apartment. And you should really start trying to get a better job and make more money. But you shouldn't care about what other people think." Then why did you tell me all of that? I saw a picture a few days ago that made a lot of sense. It was an ink drawing, like a comic, of a bunch of different animals lined up. A monkey, a dog, a giraffe, an elephant, and a pig. There was a man at a podium that said "we need to give you all the same test so we can judge you fairly. Climb that tree." That's how I feel when someone gives me "advice." Like a giraffe being told by monkeys how to climb a tree. A giraffe has no business climbing trees.. you can't judge him by that.
